Supporting the Next Generation of Innovators: DHE at the DPS Robotics Competition

DHE was proud to support the Denver Public Schools Elementary Robotics Competition, an event that brought together students, educators, and families for a day centered on creativity, teamwork, and hands-on learning.

Sponsored by DHE and led by the DPS Ed Tech Team, the competition welcomed 24 elementary school teams, with students designing, building, and programming their own robots. For many of these students, this event was a chance to showcase months of learning and problem-solving in a supportive, celebratory environment.

A Day of Learning, Teamwork, and Celebration

Throughout the competition, students participated in autonomous challenges, driving skills, and teamwork matches, testing both their coding and collaboration skills. Every robot on the field was student-built and student-programmed, with teachers guiding the process while allowing students to take the lead.

Events like this often become a highlight of the school year. For students who may not gravitate toward traditional sports, robotics offers a space where curiosity, persistence, and teamwork are celebrated. Students built, tested, adjusted, failed, tried again, and supported one another every step of the way.

Grateful to Partner with Denver Public Schools

We’re thankful to the DPS Ed Tech Team and educators who work behind the scenes to make experiences like this possible. Their commitment to STEM learning gives students early exposure to skills that extend far beyond the classroom, from problem-solving and collaboration to confidence and resilience.

It was inspiring to see how much students grow over the course of a semester as they learn to work as teams, fix what breaks, and continue improving both their robots and their skills.

Looking Ahead

We’re proud to have supported this year’s competition and to be part of an event that gives students meaningful opportunities to explore robotics and STEM at an early age. We look forward to continuing our partnership with Denver Public Schools and supporting future competitions that help students discover what they’re capable of building.

Congratulations to all the students who participated, and thank you to the educators, organizers, and families who made the day such a success.

Winners this year included teams from Montclair Elementary and Monroe Elementary, and congratulations to all students who participated.
